I really loved the Alex Rider series; it's so far fetched that a 14 year old could become an agent but Horowitz makes it somehow believable. It's really action-filled and the plot is creative. To understand the series you sort of need this book, but I'd say it's the least interesting out all of them. I'd recommend it to anyone!

Reading Stormbreaker was odd after reading many books of Stephen King, but that is not a bad thing at all. This book was refreshing to get back into the world of younger reading in a fun and exciting story.
I thought that I would be more impressed with this novel. The summary appealed to me and the plot sounded interesting, but it didn't stand out as well written. In fact, it seemed more like a book for small children than a young adult novel. Although I like reading unrealistic things sometimes, a fourteen year old boy would not be able to accomplish everything Alex Rider did in this book. It was too inconsistent, and was not a favorite on my list. Although this book might impress others, I was disappointed.

A quick read that had many flaws, but was good enough to make you forget them.
I first read the Alex Rider series when I was a teenager, some 10 years ago. It was only 5 books-long back then, and I read them all within a month (I was a slower reader at the time). Rereading Stormbreaker took me back to those years, to tiny my discovering spy books and thrillers (if it could be qualified as such).
There are many flaws in this book, mainly that the characters are two-dimensional and you don’t really get to care for any of them. But it’s major point eclipses them all: it’s a fast-paced spy novel with all the cool spy things you like. I was mainly drawn to it as a teen because I loved (still do) spy movies. And I loved spy movies starring teenagers even more. Alex Rider has everything a teenage spy needs: cool gadgets, a mind that runs a hundred miles an hour and the ability to find ressources in any given situation, no matter how bad. Despite the flaws, Horowitz delivered a great novel.
It seems that this series will stay with me even as an adult.

Amazing. As always.
A great one to return to when I don't know what to read. Almost comforting.
