Yeah, I didn’t like this.

That’s what happens when you buy a book because an actor you like is on the cover.

Amazing story - a quick read - and looking forward to the movie!

This is an incredible story about tami old ham , he fight for survival, he experiences with sudden loss and her strength to push forward and stay alive. Tami and her fiancé Richard , both experienced sailors who love the ocean and have a thirst to see the world go on a new adventure to deliver a boat , the Havana, for a couple they met across the ocean . Shockingly a short time into this adventure they are caught up in hurricane Ramsay.
Richards death, though heroic was heartbreaking. The loss tami wasn’t through or not only losing the man she loves but in that scary and dangerous situation was gut reaching. Richard and tami where both enduring characters and I genuinely enjoyed reading about all of the different places they saw together. The adventures they had and how in love they where.
I think I did myself a disservice with this book, while reading I did not realize there was a glossary in the back so I had to google quite a bit of “boat language”. Some of the scenes between tami and Richard felt to overdone. To a point that it almost seemed unrealistic. I understand tami wanted to share good memories she had with Richard and tell her story with a positive note. Honestly , I think it was the general writing style that made this a not 5 star read for me. With that being said, tami is a strong and amazing hero and she saved herself , she was her own hero!

Adrift is a story of extreme resilience in the face of tragedy and disaster, and a captivating look at the human spirit pushed to its limits.
