This book was fine. I didn't like how bad she was at waitresses without trying to change it. Also her mental health needed to be commented on earlier.

Can't Help Falling In Love is a pretty fast paced book. It follows Lexi and Will as they unexpectedly (through a little white lie that grew on its own) become engaged.

I love Will and Lexi's relationship, they're so cute and sweet. He respects her and her choices, he helps her while respecting and actually listens to her.
We meet Will from the first chapter and the story begins immediately.
It was a bit of insta love, but it wasn't too bad. It was more of they were instantly interested in each other and grew to love each other as they got to know each other.
Despite the fake engagement making an early appearance in the book, their relationship actually developed slowly. I love how even though it has the fake engagement trope it doesn't follow the same formula. It's more of it happened and we like each so why not keep it going.
I LOVED that Lexi isn't afraid to defend herself and those around her. She's not a meek damsel in distress. She knows what she wants and doesn't let others push her to the side. She's a great example of how life doesn't always have to follow this straight path everyone has their own path in life.
Her relationship with her mom was as beautiful as it was sad. She was put into the caretaker position, although it disrupted the path she was taking she never let any of that stop her.
What can I say about Will and Lexi they are perfect for each other and their relationship is a dream. Their chemistry is EVERYTHING. I will 100% be picking up more
Sophie Sullivan books.

This book started off so strong! This is my first Sophie Sullivan book, even though I own many due to her amazing covers! I Will definitely being reading more of her books sooner then later. I really enjoyed reading this book! Like just had fun and laughed out loud at many moments in this book. The Banter was top tier and man obsessed is what I am here for lol! However, there is a third-act break-up. That I felt like was unnecessary for our characters to go through. It just felt like our main girl was not really listen to our man guy who had fantastic communications skills! He was always building her up and telling her not to talk bad about her self. But she could not get past her own self image. I wish the mom and her had more talks as they had a lot things left unsaid that I felt like could have really helped the main girl be a better communicator in her relationship. All in all the third-act break up brough this down to 3.5 stars as until that point it was 4. I def recommend if you want a quick, fun, fall-vibes, happy read! This was also a closed-door romance.

Can’t Help Falling in Love by Sophie Sullivan - 4/5⭐️

When Lexi’s old high school friends drop into the restaurant she’s waitressing at, they couldn’t have caught her at a lower point in life. Which is why she pretends to be dating one of her customers instead of working. When they both have to play the part further than lunch, Lexi and Will ending up testing their true connection in return.

LIKES:
👍🏾 All of the relationship dynamics! Will and Lexi’s relationship was so organic and all consuming. You could really feel their love radiating off the pages. Which flowed into their friendships and families as well.
👍🏾 I’ve read a lot of meet cute and fake dating romances in my life, which is hard to defer from the typical storyline. But I was surprised by how refreshing this one was. There were more layers to it with the rest of the topics discussed.
👍🏾 Which brings me to - loving this interweaving of grief, healing, and discovery. There’s definitely a basis of reality and relatability under the portrayal of all of the characters and their worries.
👍🏾 The setting made for a cozy read for the fall atmosphere. There were little instances of it thrown in for ambiance, but it wasn’t overly dramatized to be advertised as just a fall read.

DISLIKES:
👎🏾 Some parts got pretty slow especially in the middle as they were just dating. But I think that’s also the allure of the book - that time in a relationship where everything slows down to really enjoy each other to fully get to know one another.
👎🏾 Some writing and grammatical inconsistencies that would sometimes take me out of the story. Could’ve done with another round of editing those out.

Overall, a simple swoon-worthy romance that I absolutely loved. Now available!
