oh man. i started this in 2023, tried reading it like 6 times - each time getting 30 pages in, and 3 years later ive finally finished and loved it. knowing the synopsis still didnt quite prepare me for the rest of the plot. i was trying to root for dorian gray but it was rough reading about him keeping his beauty at the cost of his soul as he descended deeper into sin. lord henry was a cynical arrogant misogynist but ill allow it because his lines were fire. beautifully written but unfortunately there are paragraphs of pretty prose that just drone on xo

This story had my hooked, aside from one chapter which I struggled with due to what I found to be irrelevant and unecessary detail of gemstones, fabrics and fashion. Each section of the story made me feel like I was there and I had such a clear picture in my head what was happening. Great book!
