I enjoyed it, but it dragged on for a bit too long. I don’t even want to know how many times the word “cried” was used in this book, but it’s definitely too many times. 

It was an easy and fun read that made me laugh and cry. I couldn’t lay it down, even though most of the story was pretty predictable. I felt engaged and really wanted to know how Amelie would end up at the end.

I just finished reading this book for the second time and annotating it and it's still a five star read for me. I've never related harder to a piece of media in my life, which really stings considering the context. This book has helped me come to terms with some really difficult stuff that's happened in my life and I'm so, so glad I read it. It's heart-breaking, but it's written incredibly well and I think you should give it a chance.

The beginning was the hardest to overcome. It’s very hard for me to relate to the main character in most of the book, but I recognise the validity and honesty of the story and her reactions/feelings.
Abuse comes in many forms, some harder than others, here we have an exploration of the most manipulative and insidious one, in my opinion, and it was hard to stomach.
