I wasn’t sure at first that I was going to like this book very much. Something about the first couple of chapters were somewhat off putting, but I am really glad I stuck with it because I ended up having a lot of fun reading this!
I enjoyed the characters- the humans and the ghosts, even the scary ceiling ghost. I am excited to check out the next audio in the series and am hoping to get Alice’s story eventually too! I also hope I get to see more of Edison and Riley’s relationship in the next book. And more sassy ghost butler Plover, obviously.

An interesting start to a new series about a woman who finds out she is a witch & bound to the house her aunt left her in her will. I say woman, but the story reads more YA. The characters are supposed to be in their late 20’s/early 30’s, but they read young. I will probably pick up the next one, but if it too starts sounding like a book for a high schooler, I might quit the series. But, I don’t have to think about that until 2024.
Ed: 01/25. The stories get better & the plot develops nicely

Plot driven but skipped too much time. Could have been fleshed out. Got the paperback for $5 and understand why. Had so much potential. Love the characters. Will try to finish series.

I wasn’t the biggest fan. I expected more magic. The plot kind of hopped around. Everything felt rushed. For instance it seemed as if Riley and Edison jumped quickly into their relationship without really any build up. Caroline and Alice just casually found out they were witches and part of a coven without any shock to them? It just seemed as though the storyline behind each character was rushed without any real development.
