The first few chapters have too much description of vomit and illness and bodily functions. I was listening to the audiobook, and I turned it off pretty quickly after hearing it described so frequently and thoroughly.

I was hoping for practical magic vibes and this definitely hit there. It took a second, but was worth it!
Riley just lost her job and was reached out to by her estranged aunt who lives on a tourist island.
After a long day of traveling she arrives to find out her aunt passed away 20 hours ago and she is a witch.
She now is responsible for helping guide ghosts into the afterlife and must find 8 locks before they fall into the wrong hands. Making friends, a new life, and starting a new relationship all while figuring what being a witch is about.

The way all the serendipitous meetings led up to Riley not only finding her coven of best friends but also the love of her life was spectacular. I wish there were a little more about developing Riley's magic skills in storytelling, but I still enjoyed everything about this story. I can't wait to read/listen to the next book in the series.
