I'll check out the sequel, too. I'd like to see what's next for Riley & company. Theories are already in my mind, so we will see!
Ghosts, witches, romance, real, live family drama. It's got a little of everything.

this was really promising for the first few chapters, but then it started progressing way too rapidly. like huge portions of time are just skipped and we're not made aware of it; suddenly like six weeks have passed when absolutely nothing has been said to clue readers in. the romance and friendships feel shallow and unearned, and the final nail in the coffin is that it's poorly plotted & literally everything is handed to the main character. at no point does she actually struggle to find an answer, because it just magically drops into her lap. her gut instinct: always right. it became utterly infuriating that things just always fell into place without her having to do any work at all.
Really like the plot, but there was just no build up or foreshadowing to any of the major events. Just… “oh, here you go! It works now!” But the concept is so good I kept reading in hopes it would get better
