M E I N U N G
Ich bin ein bisschen jünger als McCurdy und war damit genau in der Zielgruppe der Kinderserie "iCarly". Niemals hätte ich hinter der quirrligen Sam eine Schauspielerin vermutet, der es so schlecht ging. Das Buch ist keine einfache Lektüre, McCurdy lässt auch sehr private Details nicht aus.
McCurdy nimmt im Verlaufe ihres Buches die Perspektive von sich als Kind, als Teenager und als junge Erwachsene ein. Persönlich hätte ich ihre Geschichte lieber komplett aus einer reflektierten Erwachsenenperspektive. So konnte ich den immer wiederkehrenden Gedanken nicht loswerden, dass sie unmöglich Ereignisse und Konversationen, die viele Jahre her sind, so detailliert erinnert, wodurch sich das Buch doch nicht ganz authentisch angefühlt hat.
Abgesehen vom Schreibstil (der mit einigen Fluchwörtern ausgeschmückt ist) ist die Biografie vor allem inhaltlich sicherlich nicht jedermanns Sache. Das Buch beinhaltet diverse sehr schwere, aber auch wichtige Themen, die mich noch eine Weile beschäftigen werden.
