This is absolutely the peak of Elsie Silver’s writing because I fell in love with BOTH Winter and Theo. I know a lot of people hesitate when it comes to picking up anything with the pregnancy trope, but Reckless feels like a warm hug on a freezing, winter night so I’d suggest giving this a chance. Theo Silva is one of the most amazing men I’ve read about. He’s not perfect but he’s the perfect one for Winter. There’s something profoundly charming about having someone look at you and just know you. The banter and smut here were incredibly good and fun to read. Vivi was an adorable addition too!

I usually despise the pregnancy trope, but this one wasn't totally unbearable.

Don't get me wrong, still didn't like it very much and I pretty much only read so that I could read about Winter. But what are you gonna do? I did like seeing Theo become a Dad that was kinda fun, but this book annoyed me more than anything lol. But that's because I fucking hate miscommunication, one-night stands, and pregnancy. So that didn't leave me with a whole lot lmfao.

Rating: 5/5 stars

Winter decides to have a one-night stand with one of the most attractive men she’s ever seen, Theo Silva…but one night will change everything when she realizes she’s pregnant with his child.

Infinity stars to this one, which is an immediate all-time favorite of mine. I absolutely loved every second of it—this is what a surprise pregnancy novel should be. It’s what a romance novel should be. It’s everything, and Winter and Theo will live rent-free in my head for the rest of time.

There are so many great book boyfriends out there, but the fact is a romance just hits different when you find an MMC who says the exact things you hope someone may one day say to you and an FMC you can see parts of yourself within. Theo is absolute perfection, I relate SO hard to Winter, and this one truly made me feel all the feels as a result.

Absolute A+ perfection. I’ve loved this entire series, but RECKLESS is absolutely in a class by itself.

CW: Toxic relationship/marriage; pregnancy; mentions of past miscarriage/infertility

So, if you’ve read Powerless, you know Winter gives Theo a verbal lashing in the driveway of the ranch when they meet. I’m pleased to tell you we get the full scene, preceded by the moment they lay eyes on each other. What’s better is that it’s from Theo’s perspective and he is hooked!

The miscommunication enraged me until the end of the next chapter when it was clear something else was afoot. Elsie Silver masterfully draws emotion from readers.

Theo is known as a playboy on the circuit, and he wants to clean up his image. He wants to be worthy of Winter. Not a woman like her; he wants Winter. She doesn’t trust it because no one has ever chosen her; Theo accepts he has his work cut out for him. Challenge: accepted.

The banter between Winter and Theo is funny with just enough bite in the right places. Theo takes pleasure in sparring with her, and she feels safe enough with him to speak freely.

I spent most of my time reading this wearing a smile. I recommend Reckless wholeheartedly!

📌 What stood out
» Harvey Eaton, OBVIOUSLY 🤣 It wouldn’t be Chestnut Springs if he didn’t steal the show 🏆

» Theo is book boyfriend gold. He demands Winter prioritize herself and finds ways to force her to do it. Theo wins at woo!

📌 Moments
» Winter and Summer’s relationship levels up when they realise they can crack jokes about Rob; they’ve also both slept with Peter (Theo’s dog), which is very on brand for them. 😆

🚫 Triggers: Infidelity, parental abandonment, surprise pregnancy, sports injury, stalking (ex), mentions of grooming (not directly related to MCs) and abuse of power. Please check warnings.

Theo and Winter are my roman empire. This book has me in a consensual chokehold. I absolutely loved how something that was supposed to be a one night stand and nothing more turned into a life altering moment that brought them together once more. Watching Winter slowly open up to Theo was such a beautiful experience. Theo realizing what he’s missed out on and not only embracing his new role but being such a supportive figure for both Winter and Vivi had my heart EXPLODING.
