Easily top 10 books I've ever read. Lord of the Flies is often seen as gruesome and disturbing. I found it fascinating. A group of boys become stranded on an Island & all seems well, until it doesn't. I remember the emotions this book brought me to & how deeply profound its message was. We read this my senior year in High School -- I'm 25, and this story is still sticking with me. This will be on my reread list for the year.

Read it for school. Horrifying. Never again. Worst book ever. Enough said.

Absolute slog to get through. For less than 200 pages I had to start over twice and listen to the audiobook. Seems like a decent premise but man, was getting through the pages torturous.
A descent into terror shouldn’t be this boring. And I chose to read this, it wasn’t even for school or anything
