When Reagan Cooper agrees to be her best friend's pretend girlfriend in front of his homophobic parents, she was not expecting her sudden attraction to his twin sister. His straight, totally off limits, gorgeous twin sister. But Charlie Miller may not be as straight as she seems, and soon she has to decide whether Reagan is worth coming out of the closet for.

This was a pretty short book, which meant that it never felt like it dragged. I was engaged with the story the whole way through. On the other hand, it also meant that I never formed a deep connection with any of the characters.

The story is told in alternating first person POV between Reagan and Charlie. Both of them are likable characters, although they also seemed to be really similar. (Their narrative voices were basically the same.) The best friend, Jamie, got on my nerves a few times, but I can also understand his actions to a certain extent. I think the portrayal of the characters and the premise of the story kept making me forget that these were 26-year-olds and not teenagers.

This book did contain a lot of homophobia, which is to be expected given the plot. I thought it did a good job of a realistically portraying the emotions of having to live closeted from one's parents.

The book's premise is trope-y but it definitely kept things engaging, and the conflict also helped move things along. All in all, a solid read. I'd recommend.

I almost gave this 3 stars, but then remembered how many times I just wanted it to end, lol. Cute, but then just too long. Or really, not enough happened to warrant it going and going…

Oh my, I had many good laughs during this reading. I love romance and stuff and a good laugh is always great; a romance with a cracking humour is the ice on the cake. And was this case here. A very sweet and funny story.

The MCs were very likeable and I thought the "instalove" was very believable and that's coming from someone that hardly fall for instant anything except instalust; also I couldn't quite warm-up for Jamie, I did understand the conflict and empathize with his reasons, but I really can't deal with jerks. But I can see he's a nice guys tho.

Anyway, loved the book. 10/10 recommend

Being more objective, it's a 3. In my heart, it's a 3.5, just because Nana is a character that exists.

Now, it felt instalovey, and rushed, and very superficial and shallow. It entertained me, it's not a bad book by any means, it's just very simple and it had potential that wasn't exploited.

But it's okay. I liked it, just not too much.

Reagan Cooper has been living with her gay best friend Jamie Miller for four years. When Jamie wanted her to visit home with him and play the role of his girlfriend in front of his religious family, Reagan decided to go along. That is what best friends do for each other, right? When Reagan met Jamie's twin sister Charlie, the whole arrangement suddenly became a very bad idea.

This is a story about three gay people desperately trying to "act straight" in a homophobic household. Was that awkward enough? No? Imagine that one half of the fake couple and the other one were attracted to each other while staying in the same room for weeks on top of it all. If that did not make all hell break loose, I do not know what will.

Anyone But Her is a very fun book where Reagan and Charlie fell for each other while Reagan and Jamie were pretending to be dating. It was as messy as you could picture and hilarious at times, but you also couldn't help being extremely uncomfortable for Reagan, Jamie, and Charlie. Homophobia was real in this book despite all the lightheartedness of the plot. Lee took being closeted to a whole new level when she wrote this story, forcing three long-time out and proud gay people into an unfriendly environment. It sounded cruel but was actually a wonderful romcom and I really enjoyed it.

Great book! Very vivid, sensual and funny. I found myself laughing numerous times while reading it.

I can feel the characters sentiments.

And I love the ending. Very enjoyable book to read.

Next is reading the sequel.

I really like the writing style of Erica Lee. Gonna definitely check out her other books.

I lost interest about 60% through the book, it got boring. At that point I just started skimming through the entire dialogues.
