Hua Hsu “Stay True” is a memoir about friendship, loss of friendship, identity, loss of identity, being young and becoming old(er).
A political science major turned writer, Hua Hsa writes beautifully and introduces a lot of the philosophical ideas he was discussing in his college classes to reflect on his own feelings and experiences.
A memoir I really enjoyed reading, but it did left me a bit depressed in the end, as it confronts you with the fact that everything can change so suddenly.
A great reflection on the condition of being human and a beautiful homage to his friend.

sweet in many ways, but the writing felt very distanced from the emotions and events being described and i was never able to bridge the gap
