this was such a heavy book. it looks like the reviews are polarizing, but imo it feels like it was true to who the author was as a young adult, which is earnest to me. i felt like the first half felt a bit slow, but the second half was a heartbreaking and tender way to honor people you've loved.

This fell flat for me — the author’s complex grief was apparent but it didn’t shake me deeply like I’d expected it to. For me it was still a great exploration of the nature of friendship in youth and the spectrum of emotions one has (and doesn’t have) access to in their college years and early 20s.
