Oh another classic Agatha Christie,which I attempted to geuss the culprit and was fooled once again by the master. I reccomend it to any mystery lover or Agatha discoverer.
It had been awhile since I read an Agatha Christie novel and this reminded me while she still really is the queen of the mystery plot. Her combination of predictable formulaic events and character types with unpredictable twists in the end solution are so often imitated that it’s easy to forget what an accomplishment the invention of a whole genre really is.
Published in 1938, this Poirot whodunnit does show its age in the form of the exoticised warm blooded Spanish siren and a some other similar level of social assumptions that have changed, largely for the better, in the intervening decades. However, the plot and the fun of unraveling the different characters and their psychologies is still rewarding and entertaining. A classic from the og of mystery novels.

A quick and enjoyable read - cinematic and twisty
This was my first Agatha Christie book and I have to say, I loved it. A brilliant who done it book that leaves you guessing throughout, but nevertheless surprised by the outcome. I thoroughly enjoyed it and finished it in less than 24 hours. I'm glad that it wasn't gory or violent, but rather concentrated on the investigation itself, and the characters of the suspected. Will be looking forward to more by her.
