This penultimate volume of Locke & Key gave so much backstory and I'm here for it. So many questions were answered in this volume. It really set up the final punch for the last volume of the series. I enjoyed the use of the time key so that the reader could see what happened in the past via flashbacks instead of just being told what happened. I, especially, loved learning about Dodge and what happened to him. However, this also meant that most of the main characters that I already know and love didn't get a lot of time on page.
