Brother who writes this shit it’s monotone asf

Fractured Freedom by Shain Rose is a contemporary romance novel with a light mafia twist. It follows the second-chance romance between Delilah and Dante, who have a complicated history. Delilah tricked Dante, her brother's best friend, into taking her virginity when they were teenagers, and then pushed him away. Years later, Dante, a former soldier who works for a mafia boss, bails her out of jail for a crime she didn't commit. Together, they embark on a bucket list of self-discovery, while trying to solve the mystery of who framed Delilah and why.

This book was a letdown for me. The author, who wrote Tainted Love, had not impressed me before. But I was drawn to the book's premise, which sounded like a combination of tension, passion, and mystery. Sadly, the book did not meet its expectations.

The sex scenes were plain and mediocre, and I skipped most of them. They lacked passion and emotion, and they were repetitive and boring. The storyline was also weak and lacked substance. I wanted to learn more about Dante's family name and his involvement with the mafia, or about Delilah's twin sister, who seemed more interesting. The main conflict was resolved too quickly and easily, and it was anticlimactic. The main characters were immature and annoying, especially for a nurse and a "military guy". They acted irrationally and impulsively, and they had no chemistry or depth.

The only positive aspect of the book was the bucket list plot device, which added some fun and adventure to the story. It also showed some glimpses of the main characters' personalities and dreams, and how they helped each other grow and heal. However, this was not enough to save the book from its flaws.

The writing was not impressive either, and I noticed some errors and clichés. The author used too many adverbs and exclamation points, and the dialogue was unrealistic and cheesy. The book also needed more editing and proofreading, as there were some typos and grammatical errors.

This book may appeal to fans of contemporary romance who enjoy light mafia, second-chance, and brother's best friend tropes. However, it may not be suitable for readers who are sensitive to certain triggers, such as miscarriage, drugs, or violence, or who prefer more realistic or original stories. I give this book 3 out of 5

DNF 70%
This author has been all over my social media feed, so I gave it a try. I’ve been trying to be more open-minded with my reading recently and thought this might be worth a shot.
But nope….just nope…. This was cringy all the way through, there were no redeemable features and it just kept getting worse. I very rarely DNF books, but this one was not for me.

DFN. Couldn't even finish the first chapter.
