I have only read a few of Donna Leon's series but this topic of rare books and libraries caught my eye. And the detective, puzzle, and place all work together well in this book.

Despite the abrupt ending it's always a joy to return to the world of Brunetti and Leon's smooth writing.

Loved this latest Donna Leon, from the magnificent writing to the insightful commentary on human nature. Wonderful to see more of Paola, and to spend time in Venice.

This time the case centers around stolen antiquarian books and book pages. The case takes a turn when a former priest turns up dead. The connections between the characters are complex. And Brunetti gets a lot of time to think about books.
I also enjoyed the scenes between Brunetti and his family, their very loving relationship.

Another relaxing, informative and enjoyable trip to Venice with characters I have grown to love. I especially enjoyed the mystery of book thefts from libraries across the world.
