This sweet and simple children's story is classic Silverstein. It's a great lesson in living a fulfilling life without the need for someone else to complete you or help you become yourself. In an age of romance, where we often see themes that reinforce the concept of being incomplete without your soulmate, it's refreshing to see such a simple and empowering truth in a children's story.

Agora sim! A sequência de 'A parte que falta' tem tudo o que senti falta (com trocadilho mesmo) no primeiro livro e, entre outros aspectos, isso se dá pela introdução de um novo personagem, Big O. Todo o processo dessa parte que quer alguém que a complete é bem mais dinâmico e até engraçado em muitos trechos, além de fugir de muitas das obviedades do livro anterior. Além disso, agora a protagonista passa por mudanças que interferem a relação dela com outras partes "incompletas", o que leva a conflitos e é exatamente o tipo de enredo que me conquista. A mensagem aqui é muito mais interessante e até essencial, já que é com Big O, um ser completo por si mesmo, que a parte aprende a não depender de ninguém para rolar por si mesma, não dentro dele, mas a seu lado. Lindo, lindo.
