I really loved this book. I fell in love with both maim characters and was possibly more excited for them to get together than they were. I was not expecting the ending and am ravenous for the next book in the series.

I have been DECEIVED. holy fucking plot twist man. I have been a fool. How did the author literally just fool us all. I don’t think I’ve ever been so blindsided. This story was so unique and interesting. Wow I don’t have much to say at this moment as I’m processing but may come back to this review.

Okay, she got me. I really was convinced Callie wasn’t an assassin and they would have a dominant/submissive relationship. And the fact that he knew! And still couldn’t resist her! Ugh! So good. can’t wait to read the next book. Super sad to have to wait for the last two books though.

This book wasn't good. The writing was pretty bad. It felt very cheesy, like a poorly done, low-budget indie film.

I went into this book with an open mind and I was hoping to like it. But I just couldn't connect with the story. It felt so disjointed. It was a chore to get through the pages, but I wanted to see why everyone was talking about the ending. Yes, I didn't see it coming, but that isn't a surprise. It was less of a plot twist and more of an intentional deception from the author.

The main character is aware of her actions/history the entire time and we have her inner monologue. It doesn't make sense that we wouldn't also be aware. For the unreliable narrator trope to work, there needs to be some reason why they're not aware of their actions while narrating to us: mental illness, brain injury, drug use, amnesia, etc. It was kind of a cheap "twist" IMO.

Overall, I'm happy other people seem to be having fun with this one. Just really couldn't get into it and it wasn't for me!

This was so hyped and I am like 'For what?' The story is a very standard fae book in a lot of ways. There really wasn't much that made this book interesting that makes it stand out in the genre. The plot twist at the end is the only reason that this is getting a 3 stars. I was able to guess a part of the plot twist but there was an element that had me shook. The romance feels forced in many ways. I didn't feel the chemistry between the characters for a lot of the book.

I will say this is an actual enemies to lovers. I've read a few books that were advertised as enemies to lovers that were not.
