This book was dark and sometimes it felt like it was dark for the sake of being dark. It’s hard to express how I feel about this book because I loved and hated it at the same time 😭 I will say it had dark elements for a fantasy book so I’d just keep that in mind.

Very dark book but found it very hard to put down. Editing probably could have done with some work and arguably not a great quality book but regardless I loved it and Can’t wait for the next one to come out

The twist ahhh !

OMG YOU GUYS, I GET IT. I GET HOW TIKTOK GIRL FEELS NOW.

this book instantly made it to my top 5 reads this year GO READ IT.

You didn’t fall into the bad guy’s traps, and you certainly—certainly—didn’t fall in love with him.

the villain love interest be villaining.
the enemies to lovers be enemying and loving.
forced proximity.
dark ass fae.
hurt/comfort.
a lil smut.

“Until this moment, I’ve never known you could crave something you’ve never wanted."

STEM queen who is giving me low key heisenberg vibes. she's a bad ass who uses her scientific knowledge to outsmart and beat the fae.

villain fae prince w a dimple, be still my heart. he's evil but possessive and it's so fun.

“I am the bad guy, Callie.” He pulled away from my lips just enough to lay his whisper upon them, never opening his eyes. “Which is why you will never, ever be free from me again.”

the ending omg... i need book 2 STAT.

The ‘romance’ ruined it for me. I still loved the fantasy aspect and the ‘fae’ element however I feel this book really romanticises the abuse …

from the evil prince to Callie. He got off on her tears. He tried to kill her multiple times, he tries to tear her apart emotional and psychological. Then they have sex…. It definitely crosses the line of the ‘enemies to lovers’ trope and the ‘villain gets the girl’ trope. This guy is evil and a sadist and yet he’s still romanticised.
