For me to actually pick up, read through until the end, and then give a 4-star rating to a book about a girl who is in love with a vampire and who's best friend just so happens to be a werewolf is a feat in itself. This is so completely different than anything I usually read, but I really enjoyed it. I've heard that this particular trilogy are the "vampire books for people who don't like vampire books", and I couldn't agree more. I do believe I will actually read the next one in the series!

THIS BOOK IS THE REASON FOR ALL THE OTHER BOOKS! IT HAS THE WHOLE SITUATION PLAYING OUT, IT SEEMED THAT SHE WOULD END UP WITH JACOB BUT BECAUSE SHE DID WHAT SHE DID, THE WHOLE SITUATION WAS OVERTURNED AND THE OTHER BOOKS CAME OUT!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK THE MOST!

Jacob and Bella's relationship in this book is much more tolerable for me despite her using him as rebound in lack of someone's presence. She also mentions how big Jacob is all the dang time. We get it. Much like what I said in my review for Twilight, I would've enjoyed this book more if Meyer developed the story further with details on the Quileute tribe and the Volturi.

Beautiful portrayal of true loves absence in a life... I enjoyed this book better than the first even though it seemed to be missing most of the main characters. I felt the sadness and the longing, which I enjoy getting out of a book!
