Overall fun read. I did find an occasional unnecessarily dark sections that didn’t really add too much plot.

Note: This review is based on a self-published 2nd edition, which is the only version I've read.

I have such mixed feelings about this book. By the end, I really liked the overall story and the characters, but it was a really rough ride.
Firstly, this book needed another pass of editing due to the many spelling/grammar errors that frequently appear, particularly in the first half. I also found the first half of the book to be quite boring since most of it was spent with the MCs just waiting around, doing mundane daily tasks. Jack also felt quite immature and his initial interactions with D didn't feel very believable, nor did the plot in general in this first half.

Despite these reasons, and my subtle desire to DNF this book, I'm really glad that I finished it because the second half made it worth it. The plot was more developed/logical, the romance felt more believable, and there was much more action. I also really liked the ending, which is a rare thing for me.

Given several changes of which I'm aware that the author made to this edition, I think there were definitely some good calls made, though perhaps not all of them.

Positional Dynamic:
Both MCs are technically vers, though the scenes in which D bottoms have been cut from this edition, which I find disappointing.

most relatable part of this book:

He wondered if he should try jerking off. It’d be nice if he were capable of even
that level of self-love,

LMAO
