First at all, I have to say that I'm not a fan of the Twilight saga, but I'm not a hater either.
I must confess that I enjoyed this last book of the saga. I read the three first books a couple of years ago and they weren't what I expected. As time went by, I decided to give the last book a chance, so I continued reading it. One of the things I liked about the book is the change Bella has gone through. She used to be so dependant on Edward. Her life was Edward, but now, she has matured due to several situations she had to face. I won't go any further, because I don't want to give you spoilers in case you haven't read it yet. Another thing I'd like to point out is the legends and myths mentioned in the story; there was one that called particularly my attention, because it has to do with my country. Stephenie Meyer mentions the Mapuche people, although, I haven't heard of the mythological creature she mentions - which according to one of the characters belongs to Mapuche legends. In fact, Mrs. Meyer mixed Mapuche and Amazonian legends in order to tell the story of one of the characters. That, I must say, disappointed me, because when she first mentioned the Mapuche character, I thought the legend was going to be Mapuche as well. OK, at least she tried to reach readers from different cultures. Finally, I have to say that the book is full of resolutions - as it should be, because it's the last one - about previous relationships and other topics the characters must deal with.

I have a funny relationship with Breaking Dawn, make no mistake, I adore it as I do the rest of the series, however, I still have few problems with it.

The beginning half is amazing, we see the wedding, the honeymoon and find out that by some miracle Bella has fallen pregnant. I also enjoy seeing Bella finally develop some semblance of a relationship with Rose (despite Rose's questionable and somewhat selfish motives).

However, the main issue I have is the random introduction of a number of new vampires and clans, While Meyer does a good job of introducing them I can't help but think it would have been better had we been introduced to at least some of these characters in earlier books. i.e. A scene with Edward telling Bella about some of their vampy friends in Eclipse would have eased the introduction of so many new characters.

And of course, the weirdest and most uncomfortable part being that Jacob imprints on Bella's infant daughter...ugh. While i understand this served a direct purpose in the plot (That Bella and Edward knew if they were killed by the Volturi their daughter would have a fierce protector) I can't help but wish it hadn't happened because it's just too weird.

Not only does it completely invalidate Bella and Jacobs friendship - because apparently he was only drawn/attracted to her because she was carrying the egg that would turn into his future imprint (ew ew ew) - It just makes for a really uncomfortable situation. Not to mention when Renesmee reaches her late teens she's still technically only gonna be like four years old (once again, ew)

Furthermore, earlier in the book Leah reveals that she thinks female werewolves are sterile, hence why she couldn't be Sam's imprint - as the wolfs need to procreate would lead to him choosing a more suitable mate. What does this mean for Jacob (who is now alpha) and Renesmee, since vampires women are technically sterile too, will they ever be able to have children? (Mind you this only poses an issue providing that Renesmee's aging slows down once she reaches her late teens - as it does with the wolves, otherwise she's going to age so quickly she'll probably be 80 after only being alive 10 years).

Now while it sounds like a had a myriad of problems with this book, I swear I do love it. Seeing Bella and Edward get married and her subsequent attempts to seduce him; warmed the cockles of my heart. All in all, this was a great conclusion to what remains to be one of my favorite book series.
