This is by far the best 1930's Russian novel I have read about Satan visiting Moscow and causing havoc with the literary establishment.

I don't think I fully got it given my lack of knowledge of pre World War Two soviet culture and politics but I think I enjoyed it? The Jesus sections were wow. Also margarita is such a woman.
