The Horse and His Boy

C.S. Lewis

3.7 AVERAGE

Excellent story in the Narnian chronicles. I enjoyed this story more than the Magician's Nephew and nearly as much as The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I especially enjoyed the humor in the story as well as the use of justice to the human foibles displayed by the various characters in the story.

A reread for probably the 20th time, though it had been quite a few years. There's no way for me to rate or review this book objectively, given how much influence it had on me since early childhood, but it was a good and constructive experience to revisit it as an adult. While this book has many flaws (the racial coding in particular is harmful), there were still moments to appreciate.

Very charming. Some good humor. A light hearted adventure is exactly what is needed some times.
