* We’re free Narnians, Hwin and I, and I suppose, if you’re running away to Narnia, you want to be one too. In that case Hwin isn’t your horse any longer. One might just as well say you’re her human.
* To hear is to obey.
* Easily in but no easily out , as the lobster said in the lobster pot.
* One of the drawbacks about adventures is that when you come to the most beautiful places you are often too anxious and hurried to appreciate them.
* And the hated you tried not to think, the more you thought.
* If you do one good deed your reward usually is tone set to do another and harder and better one.
* After all, this road is bound to get to somewhere.
* I am telling you your story, not hers. I tell no one any story but his own.

This was an interesting read because I have always been curious about what went on during the adult reign of Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy. While I did think it was interesting and I love the Narnia universe, this book does loose some points for the rather racist portrayal of the Calormene people. I thought that Aslan's involvement was interesting, as well as the expansion of the universe. The characters were fine, but not terribly compelling. The world building, narration style, and plot are what move the book along and keep interest. Overall, a good read, but I am excited about the next book in the series. I recommend people read this one if they are going through the series.

Horrifically racist and far more sexist than the last two, which is a feat. I really had to force myself through this one, though the ending was cute.
