This book was a solid 3 stars. I disliked it more than I liked it though. I disliked it because the voices of the two main characters were too similar, and I would often forget who was speaking. I disliked it because of the way Violet treated her so-called best friend, Amanda--half way through the book, she learns that Amanda has tried to commit suicide before, but she never sits down with her friend and says, "I'm sorry. I care about you." She never says anything to her friend about it except ask her friend what it felt like when she attempted suicide. She cares only about her boyfriend Finch, whom Amanda has seen at her support group for teens who have attempted suicide or have thought about suicide. There were other things I disliked, especially the insta-love and Finch saying, "You're not like other girls" (GAG). Overall, the book was also kind of boring. I know that there are people who loved this book, I just wasn't one of them. It still gets 3 stars because it really is not a 2 star book.

this book involved a lot of crying, let’s just say.
2 years later and i still consider this my favourite book, everything about it was so perfect that if i even consider writing a review it would be over 5000 words
i would just say to buy yourself a box of tissues and prepare to feel numb for atleast a week
“you are all the colours in one at full brightness”
“ultraviolet remarkably”

Since I'm a little older there are usually parts in young adult novels that I find cheesy. BUT, this one was a great surprise and really, really good. It was sad, funny, and real at times. Definitely recommend!
