The plot is so cute and even though the back of the book already mentions the end, the plot surprised me. It moved super fast, so it was a light read - at least for me. It does talk about a few topics - such as toxic relationships, alcoholism, and adoption trauma.
The characters are so sweet. The way they slowly fell in love without realising was incredibly well and believable written. I hope they live happily ever after.
Speaking of characters: the book is super diverse in a subtle way. There are (half) Asian characters as well as a lot of queer people especially lesbians and even a person that uses they/them pronouns. There's also social anxiety representation.
Language wise it wasn't challenging. Yet, the way the authors play with words is magnificent. It's simply and still brilliantly written. So in case your first language isn't English and your looking for beginner friendly books, look no further.
I recommend this book to all the young lesbians out there that might be a bit intimated by the though of dating or asking out another girl/woman.
To Rachel Lippincott and Alyson Derrick: Thank you for writing this!!!
Graphic: Addiction and Alcoholism

from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Although it took a little bit of time to get fully invested in Alex and Molly's story, once invested it was impossible to put this book down.
Both Alex and Molly were relatable in one way or another and their experiences growing closer together helped with character growth. Although the story only takes place over the course of about a month, the character growth is profound and not trivial. I would love to have seen more both of them making more friends though. I also enjoyed the pacing and progression of the story.
Overall I recommend this book to anyone looking for a relaxing, relatable read.
