Ok this book surprised me. Not my favorite of the series but it was a good book. It had some dark and heavy subjects but I think they were handled in a good way. Mental health was a big thing in this book and I think that Lauren was able to represent chronic anxiety very well. Chronic illness was also a main topic in this book and it surprised me, I didn’t expect this but I think it was a great thing plot wise. I think that it brought good conversations about therapy and medication management. I think that Jax was struggling a lot and it is very clear his development throughout the story. I struggled a bit with connecting with him, he was very annoying at some points but at the end of the day I liked his character, just not in the way I was expecting, and definitely not like Noah, Santiago and Liam. The way he handled some things was questionable and I think that’s why I struggled with his character. Elena was for me the best part of the book. She is such a strong MMC and such a great character overall. She had a very rough childhood and we can see how much she struggled with that but also was able to heal throughout the book. Something I didn’t not like about the book was the stereotypes that were placed in Elena and her family, it just didn’t fit with me and it pissed me off at some times. I do think not everyone would like this book, but there’s not much I could say about it. It’s just a book that you have to read and discover yourself and not based it off only on reviews. I would read it again if I were to read the whole series.

the writing in wrecked is noticeably better than in it's predecessors imo. the romance didn't click with me so it was probably my least favourite aspect of the book but i liked the characterisation and i cared so much more about them than i did the lead characters of the last 2 books. in general, elena and jax had more depth and better character development. this book isn't much less corny than the last two but i actually didn't hate it as much as i was expecting to. don't get me wrong, there was still a lot of flaws (elena's parents' murder, for one - i didn't catch a single explanation for why they were shot by gang members/drug dealers in their own home) but it was a better read than i was expecting.

I loved this book and the messages behind it, but Jax ended up being an ass and I think Elena deserves better but hey, gotta have a happy ending for everyone 🤷🏼‍♀️

ALSO; if a man is calling out your insecurities while dumping you, dump his ass and never talk to him again sis.

The extended epilogue was so weird to me?? Like they just see this orphaned baby and are like ‘yea, we’re gonna adopt him’ without even ACTUALLY thinking it through??
