I’d give this one 3.5 stars. A woman a dog a cow and a cat. Domestic, post apocalyptic sci-fi but cozy cottage survival core in the Austrian mountainside. Calm, lonely, existential, feminist, eerie. A bit repetitive but that’s also the point. This one feels like capital L literature. Enjoyed the afterword explaining the feminist take on the writing.

I didn’t think I’d like it, but I loved it. I felt the pain, the labor and isolation of this woman. I know it’s just a book but I could really see some parts of my own life in it really well. The monotonous daily struggle to just survive. Life altering read. 4.5⭐️ Would be higher but I like to save the 5s.
