As others point out, the latest information about health is readily available online. However, if you are poorly this would be a lot easier to access. Also, not everyone has the internet - e.g. A lot of elderly people are not familiar with it and may never have actually used it before. Doctors also use this to help them rather than having to search online.

One massive advantage of this book is that it is endorsed by the BMA so you can be sure that the information written inside is accurate and can be relied upon in times of need. This cannot be said for a lot of medical information on the internet.

I guess it really depends on the individual but, in my opinion, you cannot go wrong having one of these reference guides in your home.
