Six Weeks to Live
Release 05/04/2021

Aline, Miranda, and Emily are triplets. Their mother Jennifer is dying of brain cancer and has been given six weeks to live. She refuses to grant her husband a divorce, and she barley hanging on by a thread.

In the six weeks, lies, secrets, betrayal, and mental illness all surface, and the girls learn things about their mother that she wanted to take to the grave. But sometimes when you learn things about your life and your past, it's a way of closure for you and the person about to pass. In this book, no secrets were taken to the grave.

I can’t delve too much into this review because it’ll give too much away.
But I absolutely loved it
It’s def one of the best I’ve read so far this year

Get to the freaking point! This was a thriller, but the most shocking twist came at the 85% mark of the book. Don’t waste your time.

Even though I read this in the beginning of the year, I did not remember previous reading it. So I read this again. My thoughts haven't changed really. Still 2 stars but think I enjoyed it less this time around

I finished this book a while ago but forgot to do a review on this for a couple of days. And in that time I've forgotten most of the plot. Remember thinking that it could have been 3 or 3.5 stars but as it didn't stick much to my memory, i lowered my rating

Who dunnit? Or did anyone do it? What a horrible thing to have to worry and think about right after you find out that you have brain cancer and have six weeks to live—that someone might have poisoned you. Why?

The reader goes on a roller coaster of emotions with Jennifer as her life diminishes week by week, and as she begins to doubt everyone she knows. Or is the tumor affecting her thinking and really, everyone loves her and it's all in her imagination?

Six Weeks to Live grabbed my heart from the very first page and I found myself totally immersed in Jennifer's remaining six weeks, as the truths of her loved ones are revealed. I have loved all of Catherine's stories and each one is my new best favorite. This is one that I highly recommend and one you don't want to miss!

Fast read due to short chapters and shifting POVs. None of the characters are likeable and I had a hard time connecting. Pretty sure if I had six weeks to live I wouldn’t spend the time arguing with family and digging up old trauma. When the ending came I was annoyed with the wrap-up.

I didn’t love it, but I also didn’t hate it. I was immediately drawn to this book when I found out the premise. However, as the story unfolded, I found it to just be “

Catherine McKenzie is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors - and she's Canadian!

This book incorporates two things I've always been fascinated with - psychology, and the biology of multiples. Along with complicated family dynamics, this book was almost perfect!!

I would have liked if more information about the condition (which I won't name to avoid a spoiler), details about it, how it manifests etc.

I will definitely be reading more from this author!

Eh. It took me so long to finish this book, it just didn't grip me. There wasn't enough going on or enough intrigue to make me want to listen.

3.5 forking stars. Overall I enjoyed following Jennifer's detective work. I felt there were a few twists and turns that made me want to see how it all played out.
