So, the 4th book of the series finally had me hooked, despite me preferring characters with more "edge" than the YA genre typically allows. However, Ms. Buroker has a way of endearing her characters to her readers that just force you to learn what happens to them next. I'm certainly looking forward to the promised conclusion of the series in Fall!

I still loved the chemistry between the couple in this one, but something about Cedar's point of view didn't click as much as Kali's.

Isn't it strange how some series you can pick a book and not recall any of the characters, their names, their other halves or their back stories - even if you have read 5 or 6 really long books. Others just seem to be easily recalled.

So it is with the Flash Gold Chronicles. I am reliably informed that it is 2 years since the last novella was published and yet as I started this latest one it all came flooding back to me.

I love Kali and her brilliant inventiveness. Cedar and his bashfulness trying to tell her how he feels. Just perfect.

In this novella Cedar and Kali investigate why several proven claims are being sold for a fraction of their worth by the owners and then resold days later for a fortune.

I always enjoy reading Lindsay Buroker's Flash Gold series. Kali and Cedar's adventures are humorous and nail-biting. Claimed found them even closer to catching Cudgel--the slippery villain who killed Cedar's brother--and closer to declarations for each other. Now, I shall anxiously await the final installment in the series.

I read this when I couldn't get into any other book --- too traumatized by world events. So I'm giving it five stars, even though I seem to recall I kinda regretted it being all from his point of view.
