I honestly don't think that Liz Tomforde can do a bad book. I ATE this book so quick. It was literally the perfect amount of fun, sweet, spice, tension, and plot. Kai..... Kai the man you are. I don't know how to explain this man, and how good he is. I truly think that Liz is one of those authors that every single one of her male characters are book boyfriend material. Kai's love for his family is so pure, the way he loves Max is just *cheff's kiss*. He is one of the most selfless guys and would do anything and everything possible for his family, especially Miller and Max. He just made me melt throughout the whole book and I love that. Also, the Clark Kent thing was sooo good, and it hooked me more than I already was. Miller.... She is so relatable and I freaking loved her. I was able to see myself in her so much in the fact that you just don't want to stay in one place because of the expectations that she thinks she has from other people. The more you move and do the less likely you will not meet such expectations and the less likely you will get attached to someone who will place more expectations on you (if that makes sense). Her story was so well done and it really made the readers understand and see her. Her character development was truly one of my favorites parts of this book. The way she was able to find the love she has for baking was so beautiful and seeing her be able to get over her past and also be able to accept the love she deserves. Her relationship with Max was also so incredibly special and heart melting. Her love for that baby was just perfection. Kai and Miller's love was so freaking good! It was the perfect evolution from "I don't like you" to friends to "let's just f*ck and not think about it again" to "I can't stop thinking about it" to lovers. It's one of those stories that are just 100% true and believable, if they were real people they would absolutely would have gotten together and would have been perfect for each other. ALSO! Isaiah and Kennedy's book is about to be soooo good, I can't wait. Overall, this book was everything I wanted and I would definitely would read it again and again with no problem.

Liz Tomforde could write a recipe and I'd read it.

This book may have been my favourite of the Windy City books so far. It was like a sucker punch to my heart at some points, and I was absolutely sobbing towards the end, but it wouldn't be 5 stars for me without a HEA!

Miller is both the most relatable and frustrating character, I understand why she is making all of her decisions, but it doesn't make me want her to change her mind any less.

Meanwhile Kai is 6 foot 4 and gorgeous so... need I say more?
