It was as not as good as Percy Jackson. And I don't find Jason Grace as lovable as Percy. He seems to perfect. It's like just because he was Zeus' son, he becomes a very perfect personification. It's almost like he's not even a demigod. He was almost as close as god. What I even amusing from this book is how Rick can twist the plot, mixing the Greeks and the Romans, though I don't quite fancy the plot. Other than that, I think Rick should give Leo Valdez a little bit more credit. He is a very fun and more dependable sidekick, compared to Grover. Besides, he is very funny.

enjoyed this so much more than i expected too! i thought that the lack of the og trio and characters was going to make me less invested, but i love the new crew so much that it wasn’t a problem. definitely a better feel tone-wise than the initial pjo series and i’m really interested in seeing where the plot goes

The last 40% of this book was SO GOOD. It took a little longer for me to get through this one because some of the scenes felt a little less iconic than the first five books, but Piper and Leo got me through it. I immediately felt so much love for the two characters, especially getting to know more about their parents, and Jason grew on me as well towards the end.

This book took me a little while to get in to. I had really enjoyed the last Percy Jackson book and was sad to see we were starting with new characters. As the book went on and some of the familiar faces and places appeared I started to enjoy it more and then next thing I know I realized I liked our new main characters. I really like where this book took us and where it seems to be leading us towards with the next book. I also really enjoyed that the characters are slightly older and seemed easier to relate to than a tween/young teen.
