It took me a while to finish this book but it certainly was worth it :)
This book was quite long compared to the previous Percy Jackson books but this book is also multi perspective and follows all three main characters throughout the book.
I really love all these new characters introduced in this book and loved reading their different perspectives and their struggles.
I loved the Greek and Roman aspects of the book too, and I can't wait to see what is going to happen when the both sides will meet.

I'm sorry, but Jason and Piper are boring. Especially Jason.

I think Bella from Throne of Pages was right: Leo carried the weight of this book on his back.

Better than I remember! Higher stakes and more moving parts than the OG series give this so much more depth. Jason isn’t my favorite, but he’s growing on me. Piper and Leo have always been favorites. I love the idea of the Annabeths and Percys of the camp stepping back and allowing the new group of campers to thrive.

i enjoyed both the characters and the overall plot of this book much more than i thought i would, a great first installment that makes me interested in continuing the series.

Reread 2022
I’d forgotten so much about this book 😱 Apart from the main characters, I didn’t remember much from my original read, so it was almost like reading it again for the first time. And I enjoyed it as much this time around!

This new series feels much more YA, compared to the first one, which was a solid MG. It’s like growing up with the characters and I appreciate that. I also love how Rick Riordan managed to weave both mythologies together. Percy Jackson and the Olympians made him famous, but Heroes of Olympus is what solidified him as the writer of mythology-inspired fiction in MG/YA.

My only complaint about this book is that his research clearly lacked about Quebec City. Someone living there and representing Quebec wouldn’t be caught dead in a Canadiens shirt 😂 I get that a Nordique reference would’ve gone over the readers’ head, but it’s that’s like wearing a Yankees shirt in Boston or a Red Socks shirt in New York.
