DREAM ON by Angie Hockman is the sort of romance novel that just reads itself.  Cass Walker wakes up from a coma and, according to her family, has dreamt up her boyfriend Devin. After struggling for a year to come to terms with her new reality, Cass ends up fainting at a flower shop owned by the very real Devin's brother.  But after meeting him, this very-real-Devin isn't exactly how Cass remembers from her dreams.  Full of family drama, career soul searching, and a poignant romance, DREAM ON is certain to be a summer hit!

I received this book as an ARC and am so grateful to get to read and review it before it comes out in a few months.
I thought the premise of this book was so cool and different from anything I have read in a contemporary romance. FMC wakes up from a coma with memories of a boyfriend, who does not actually exist.
I figured, based upon reading shipped, that even though this wasn’t an office romance, having such a work focused FMC would mean a lot of page time at the office or talking about the job. Which, objectively, I don’t mind. HOWEVER, I feel like if media has taught us nothing else about lawyers, it is the basics of attorney client privilege. And I don’t understand and won’t pretend to understand the intricacies of the law or attorney client relationships, but it kind of seems like a breach of that privilege to actively tell many people outside of that attorney-client relationship about a client’s business dealings and plans that were disclosed during a business meeting. Again, maybe I’m reading too much into this, but with such a heavy emphasis on her being a lawyer, that just didn’t feel right to me.
Also, the FMC was trying so hard to be quirky and relatable that it really felt forced a lot of the time. At times even making comments about girls who are “not like other girls.” LIKE GIRLY THATS YOU.
The romance was okay, if not a little forced.
Also, since Shipped was a fade to black, I expected the same from this story, which is totally fine! Not every story benefits from overt and explicit sexual content. However, when you go a whole 337 pages with no sexual content and then cram a sex scene into the last two pages of the epilogue, it seems a little in poor taste and forced.
