A romance of lost memory, finding truths, brothers and betrayal this story kept me wildly engaged wanting to know more.  An easy romance read it’s not really spicy so great for younger readers wanting to get into romance as well as has a plot alongside it both intriguing and engaging and I really felt part of it rooting for the characters

gosh.... i loved it. i thought it would be kinda unbelievable as i thought it would go down a more supernatural/spiritual path, but it didn't, & i'm actually relieved it didn't. i loved that the mc doesn't take any bs - although some of the dialogue i did find a bit.. cringe but it wasn't like intolerable! since this was published recently, the pop culture references did throw me off & some of the slang but it wasn't like... horrible. although the plot is a prettyyy predictable, i still enjoyed the hell of it. i really enjoyed that the love interests actually were good people??? like, yeah, it's the minimum for a man to own up to his actions & apologize when he's done something wrong, but idk, it was just refreshing to see & refreshing to see the girl not be desperate (well.). i was totally not expecting the nsfw at the end (like literally, the end! it was the epilogue). PERRY ON TOP. that's all i have to say <3

sometimes love is not where we expect it & that's one of the best kinds of love, methinks. my only "grievances" would be that cass's trauma is kinda... overlooked? maybe overlooked isn't the right word... maybe it's just the pacing. anyway, overall, this novel is the perfect balance of romance, goofiness, lightheartedness, reliability, & angst. hurt/comfort stays on top <3

This was such a charming and thoroughly satisfying contemporary romance with an intriguing premise and a protagonist that I absolutely adored!

It follows law graduate Cass Walker who, after waking up from a weeklong coma, seems to have memories of a man that doesn’t seem to exist.

After a year of family, friends  doctors confirming that her dream guy, Devin was nothing but a coma induced false memory, Cass is completely shocked to found out that Devin really does exist—and despite having never met her, he believes her story. And it’s not long before they begin to embark on a real life romance, despite the doubts of Devin’s brother Perry.

Now with her dream job in sight and her dream man by her side, things seem to be working out perfectly… the problem is fate may not be done with Cass just yet…

I was definitely drawn to this primarily for its quirky premise but ended up absolutely adoring our protagonists and the loveable cast of characters we meet (I loved Devin’s brother Perry and his dog, the Colonel.) The slow-burn romance that we develop was also really good.

It’s definitely a book I can see being adapted into a Hallmark movie—particularly in regards to Devin’s real estate developing father who’s dastardly plot to ruin his son’s career leads to a lot of wholesome community spirit.

I was also pleasantly surprised at how well everything involving Cass’s false memories is resolved, it felt like a realistic and fairly organic conclusion and definitely made more sense than what I had initially thought up. The plot does also briefly touch upon miscarriage so do check the TWs beforehand.

Overall, a fun, quick and incredibly entertaining contemporary romance that fans of Emily Henry or Hallmark movies should definitely pick up.

Also a huge thank you to Headline Eternal for the PB copy.

Read this one on recommendation from Jordan, and while it did involve some heavy suspension of disbelief, she was cute!!!! Just what I need right now, give me all of the fluff! I like the very inclusive, up to date language. Also random last chapter sex scene okur?

When aspiring law student, Cass Walker wakes up in the hospital following a car accident that left her in a coma, she has memories of a boyfriend that doesn't exist. Despite doctors, friends and family telling her otherwise, it all feels so real and she can't get him out of her head.

Fast forward a year, and Cass is attempting to get her life back on track. She's landed her dream internship at a prestigious law firm, she hopes will keep her on long term. One day when she walks into a local flower shop, she comes face to face with the man of her dreams - Devin. When she explains her story to him, he believes her and they embark on a real-life romance.

💭 T H O U G H T S

I was instantly drawn to Dream On by it's bright, colourful cover. It's definitely one of my favourite rom-com covers of 2022, yet it's one of those books that had so much potential, but wasn't flushed out smoothly.

What I like:
- the premise. As I mentioned above, there was so much potential here. It sounded so good.
- the charming flower shop setting. Being a green thumb and knowing the power of flowers I absolutely adored the flower shop backdrop.
- the first half. I was interested, engaged and enjoying what was happening through the first half.
- Cass' best friend. Everyone needs a friend like this in their life.

What I didn't like:
- the love triangle. I don't get it. I likely will never get it.
- the second half. The plot went in a direction I didn't like or expect (see the next point) and just became more and more unbelievable as I went, to the point I eventually lost interest.
- Mercedes/Sadie & Devin plot twist. It felt absolutely unnecessary and the author used something so tragic in such an inappropriate way.

Overall, I enjoyed the first portion of this book, yet the second half lost my interest and dropped my rating. At the end of the day, there was so much potential for the book to be a solid 4 to 5 star, but the author took a chance and I don't think it paid off. At least not with me.
