Was this the best book I've ever read, no. But did it pull me out of my reading slump? Yes and I'm happy about it too.
This book was more about character development than anything else, we really saw Max come into his own in this one.
I really enjoyed the rouge wolf sanctuary, and all the work that Max did to develop the blood wolf abilities
The ending felt very rushed to me and the cliff hanger I could see coming a mile away

This was the best one of the series so far and I say “so far” because there HAS to be at least one more. It can’t end here! This book is all about finding yourself and no matter what society expects you to do you can do what’s right and change what needs to be changed. Max is a character who is just full of heart and you can’t help but love and root for him! Jasper has grown so much as a character and this volume sees the most change in him but he’s still true to himself. If anything his pack duties suppressed his true self and now that he’s with Max and exploring what he wants to do as an alpha instead of just what is expected of him he can finally be himself and be free.

Thrilling, adventurous & heart warming with a bunch of surprising twists and turns - this was an immersive journey with the deep resonance of wolf spiritual consciousness with lunar planes on one hand and wolf societal pressure and politics on the other spanning out the world of wolfkind into different dimensions. The ongoing romance of the Future Alpha and the new Blood Wolf was absolutely adorable and there seems to be another chapter in this story as penned by the author in the acknowledgement section. Curiously awaiting this other chapter and hope this comes out as another exciting adventure!

I'm gonna be honest, I'm a little upset with where it ended.

Another installment of Alpha’s Son and I was so happy to return to this world! I will say this novel filled in a lot of knowledge gaps and I’m so grateful. That cliffhanger though? I will not recover until I know what happens!
I will say my biggest gripe of this installation was that it felt like a lot of character introductions with no real development of characters until the very end. I have a feeling we will be seeing many of these characters again and I’m very excited to see how and when.
Thank you Tiny Ghost Press and Penny Jessup for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
Running with the Alpha’s Son by Penny Jessup is out now!
