This book took me some time to read. It was interesting, gross, fast-paced, weird. The plot was fresh but confusing. This is a difficult book to review.

In true Palahniuk fashion, there are the usual morbid/disturbing details that kinda make you cringe, which, truthfully, always make his books good reading for me. The oral biography format, too, was interesting: each character telling his/her own version of the events of Buster Casey's life. However, this book just wasn't one of my Palahniuk favorites--he lost me in a couple places, mainly where I felt he got too into describing/explaining technical details and deviated from the focus of the story: Buster Casey. For me, it just wasn't his best work. If you're a Palahniuk fan, definitely give it a read, just for his interesting ideas and odd twists. But if you're a Palahniuk newbie, I'd try some of his older stuff first.

I can not say that this book is for everybody, especially the interview transcript format, however, the topic it is written about was really interesting and enjoyable. It does take a lot of focus to remember each person's point of view and who they are in the story. A+ for a cool cover though!
