🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW🎧

🩰synopsis:
It’s 1944 and 16 yr old ballerina and gymnast Edith Eger is sent to Auschwitz. Separated from her parents on arrival, she endures unimaginable experiences, including being made to dance for the infamous Josef Mengele. When the camp is finally liberated, she is pulled from a pile of bodies, barely alive.
The horrors of the Holocaust didn’t break Edith. In fact, they helped her learn to live again with a life-affirming strength and a truly remarkable resilience. The Choice is her unforgettable story.

🌼thoughts:
I feel like now more than ever it is important to read survivors' stories of this awful period of history. This author became an incredible psychologist. This book is in 2 parts. Part 1 is the story of her incredible life. Part 2 is recounting lessons learned and given in her years as a psychologist with a heavy emphasis on trauma. There's so much to glean from both parts and I was crying throughout. Highly recommend, and the narrator did a great job with this audiobook.

Mooi boek, mooie boodschap. Aan het eind vond ik het erg langdradig en kwam ik er moeizaam door heen. Het is niet een boek vol vreugde en voelt af en toe wel zwaar aan, maar desondanks wel een heel inspirerend verhaal.
