This story certainly had its share of creepy parts.
Mannetti has the writing chops to keep you interested in the story, but I found that when I was expecting the story to wrap up very soon, I discovered I was only halfway through! I figured at that point that my Kindle edition must have come with a bonus novella.
But no...this story carried on, and that is probably the biggest reason this review doesn't get 4 to 5 stars. I really thought it was too long for the story, and a novella length would have been perfect.
Three quarters of the way in, and we know what needs to be done, just do it already. I was pushing my way to the inevitable end, eager to move on to something else.
Anyways, I don't regret reading it. For most of this novel, I was enjoying it a LOT, and will definitely check out more from this lady.
