Perfect companion Novella to Bone Clocks. I think I am ready for Cloud Atlas in the near future?

Slade House is a 'The Grudge' style simmering horror with interconnected stories surrounding the namesake location.
Vividly told with enchanting visuals and moments of genuine tension, it is overall an effective and enjoyable interpretation on traditional tales of haunted house and monster. Alas, the last act delves deep into lores of David Mitchell's mega fictional universe; while fun for the fandom, it is a tad impenetrable for casual readers (like myself), who hasn't yet familiarized himself with the recurring concepts/characters.
Still, Slade House works 90% of the time as an excellent standalone horror novella, and it's definitely enticing me closer to actually pick up one of David Mitchell's more well-known epics (which I'm still quite intimidated by!).
