The more I read Dostoevsky, the more I understand the hype

An easy listen, contrary to many of Dostoevsky's novels. The honest thief raises the question of whether it is fine to forgive or accept a lie in some circumstances especially when there are more important things to be worrying about.

Dostoevsky's short stories are always a joy to read and listen because of the power of his storytelling.

The characters feel pretty stupid TBH and the storyline was not most interesting of all but it did make me want to finish the book, basically kept me curious...

"- O Jean-Jacques Rousseau!

Adeus!

It tells a story about Astafy Ivanovitch, lonely man who decides to take in a lodger, an old soldier, on the insistence of his cook. It has insights about guilt and forgiveness, alongside the idea of misery and unjustice.

Overall nice read.
