I really liked this! It managed to surprise me and take me in directions I wasn't expecting (the dynamics of the evangelical youth group, for example, weren't the one-dimensional stereotype I'd thought they might be, and also seemed entirely fitting). One thing I remember most from this book is how no character has everything figured out (like real life) -- no one is the perfect role model to our protagonist in this coming-of-age story, everyone is a mix of contradictions. Congratulations to Lisa Murphy-Lamb and Stonehouse on this strong, assured debut.
