Twisted Kingdom is the last book in Aiden and Elsa’s trilogy, and after reading that jaw-dropping cliffhanger from Steel Princess, I needed answers. Rina Kent definitely knows how to write some gritty, dark storylines that keep you on the edge, and she also knows how to write some ‘OTT’ (Over The Top) jealous/possessive anti-heroes like Aiden King.

Steel Princess and Twisted Kingdom not only answered my burning questions about Elsa and her memories but also took me on an emotional rollercoaster. Rina Kent’s narrative of how Aiden and Elsa first met in the past is a heart-wrenching tale that is not for the faint of heart. I found myself sympathizing with both characters for different reasons and gained a deeper understanding of Aiden’s initial reaction to Elsa in Deviant King.

Twisted Kingdom delves deep into the dark past of Elsa’s family, unearthing secrets that someone desperately tried to keep hidden. It also confronts the reasons behind Aiden’s father’s disapproval of his relationship with Elsa, a conflict that Aiden is determined to overcome. Aiden’s future plans are intricately tied to Elsa, a promise he made years ago that he’s now desperately trying to get her to remember, adding a layer of suspense and mystery to the narrative.

Aiden became a different person in this book becoming more protective and worried about Elsa, but he still was a walking red flag. I definitely understood him a lot better after this book and everything he went through. Elsa changed a bit, too, and it’s all due to someone coming back into her life and shaking things up. I now understood why Aiden’s father and Elsa’s father had a feud years ago.

I was glad that Elsa and Aiden finally found their HEA and that Elsa found out the truth, but I felt there was a lot of repetition and that things were rushed, especially when it came to the long-standing conflict between the Kings and Steels. I still enjoyed the book; it just won’t be a favorite.

I’m ready for the next storyline that involves Xander and Kim. Rina has been teasing me about these two since Deviant King, and I need to know why they hate each other. Rina definitely has a new fan, and I can’t wait to continue reading this series, plus every book she’s ever written.

Officially Aiden and Elsa's story come to an end. Will I miss them? Most likely yes, and I can't wait to go back to them.

Finally we find out what happened in the past, but things between Elsa and Aiden are starting to crack especially now that Elsa found out that Aiden is engaged to someone else??? What the hell??

Finally Elsa starts having flashbacks about what happened and I'm very happy that this somehow brought them back together.

Sad that I have to leave them, but happy that now I can start the next book in the series. I don't know but, I am very excited for Xander and Kimberly's story.

I finally got to wrap up Elsa and Aiden's story; these two have been through so much. This trilogy was one of my favorite stories in this universe, even though things initially got off to a rocky start. Now, things got tedious from time to time between them since it was like every time things started to go right, they would crash and burn. But by the end of this book, we had everything wrapped up, they were living happily ever after, and we finally got our first baby! She's pregnant with Eli, and I love it so much. I hope we see when she gets Creighton, but I wonder if that makes it into that series.

Note: I’m not sure if I enjoyed “Twisted Kingdom” more than its predecessor ”Steel Princess” just because I took a break in between those two books (and therefore cannot remember my exact feelings on the beginning of the series) or if I really just found ”Twisted Kingdom” to be more enjoyable?

While I am glad that Aiden and Elsa have finally received their long-awaited HEA — I ultimately do not think that they needed three books to do so…

Going into the series I was most excited for Aiden & Elsa’s novels — because they were the pairing that I thought that I would enjoy the most — but giving them three books where they just ended up repeating their words and their actions became frustrating and monotonous to read.

I’m also not a fan of far fetched (OTT) plots in contemporary novels — so that is also something that impacted my personal enjoyment of their trilogy — but I know that there are others that enjoy those kinds of things (so it all comes down to personal preference)! :)
