The ONLY reason I did not give this book a 5 star rating is because the majority of the book was very slow. Of course in Sarah J Maas fashion, the last 100 pages were INSANE!!! I was literally talking out loud to myself because I was in such disbelief. There was NO WAY I could have predicted what happened in the end. I have to read the last part of Tower of Dawn in order to finish the tandem read, but WOW. What another great installment in the Throne of Glass series. All I can say is screw Lorcan and Maeve!!! Aelin is the strongest character I have EVER known in any series, and that is an understatement. I cannot even imagine what SJM has in store for the last bit of TOD and Kingdom of Ash!!!!! WOW!!!!

This might be my favorite book of the whole damn series so far. What a rollercoaster of emotion…and that ENDING?! Wow.

How can I write this review with no spoilers? The character development and travels across the world of Erilea alongside our beloved characters was incredible.

Aelin is back, sassy as ever (of course) and has big plans up her sleeve to secure her throne as queen and the world’s fate. Every character has hidden mysteries of their own entangled with the adventures they must go on together. Buckle up, because you’re along for quite the ride.

This. Book. Was. So. Good.

I don’t know if there are words to describe this instalment. Maas is a masterful writer, and this book proves it.

This book was so crazy. I read this one and Tower of Dawn in tandem, and the only reason why I think this book isn’t five stars for me is because of the tandem read? I don’t know reading both of them slowed me down and kind of confused me. This book was still fabulous though. The beginning was definitely a little slow, but the end was mind blowing. Another thing I loved about this book was that it really tied everything together? It was just crazy to see how all the loose ends and different povs throughout the series kind of came together in this book.

Keep in mind that this is a problematic author and I’m reading this from a library outlet so I’m not profiting SJM. SJM is a racist, Zionist, and ableist but unfortunately she does know how to develop a morally grey mc. All in all, I change my mind, this is my favorite in the series. I absolutely love Aelin and her wits in this book. The end also broke me a little. I usually don’t like slower paced fantasy novels this one I liked. I would’ve gave it a higher rating if not for some out-of-character and negative themes that are perpetuated in this novel and the entire series.
