Was a lighthearted book. I really
disliked el and ray getting together tho. It felt way to predictable for ray to all of a sudden discover her feelings for Eleanor. Kinda wish they didn't get together and for Eleanor to move on
. Overall an okay story about moving outside of your comfort zone.

I love Laura Kay's writing because it just feels like you're having a chat with your friend. She's one of the few writers that actually makes me physically laugh. Just the perfect queer romcom really, silly and sweet.

Really a 3.5.

This was a totally solid WLW British romance. A sweet read while I was at the beach, with friendly side characters, a charming village, and chickens! I think the reason it didn’t click for me in a stronger way was the fact that I just didn’t see what was so heart-stoppingly perfect about the love interest? Like, Ray just seemed… like a cool nice person. But El had been in love with her for YEARS. So all of El’s pining for her friend, while VALID, just didn’t make sense to me as the reader because I was like, yeah Ray is cool and regular and a lesbian who dresses well. I think if that had been strengthened I would’ve been hooked more?
