This book for the most part was really beneficial. It really got me thinking differently in ways that I know will propel me forward instead of hold me back. It helped me recognize some moments in my own life where mindset/actions held me back and how I can shift those. It empowered me especially in the beginning with the focus on your way of thinking and your belief as what is really going to direct you to success.

BUT, why I gave it four stars instead of five: Getting into the book I ran into some messaging that raised a little flag in my brain. One, the mention of when anything negative comes up in your head to push it down. From my experience and learning so far, resistance and suppression are not the way forward. It gives me toxic positivity that reflects it being written in 1959.

Oh and the mention of hitler in the last few pages, not a good look.

Overall though, would recommend!!

Love it, full of great ideas and the summary at the end of each chapter condenses main ideas for you.

Honestly the only reason I finished this atrocious book was because I hoped to write a funny review, and the old-timey slang was funny. Unfortunately the old-timey misogyny and elitism was not. I think I was reading the original version? Did it become less horrifically offensive later or something?
